Watched Memphis Belle on Memorial Day for the first time in a long time...had forgotten how wonderful George Fenton's score is, so I pretty much ordered it by the end of the movie. It's as tight and true musically as the film script so no false notes at all. The use of "Danny Boy" and "Amazing Grace" as character and story motifs is one of my favorite things, but the whole thing is great. Only downside--as others have noted--is that they didn't keep or get to use Harry Connick Jr's performance of Danny Boy, which is pitch-perfect in the film, of course.
